recording studio

SpiritHouse Recording Studio is a state-of-the-art recording facility located in Northampton Massachusetts. The studio is equipped with a Sony DMX-R100 console, outboard gear by Neve, Telefunken, Lexicon, dbx, and an impressive collection of classic microphones. The studio was recently renovated, and offers a spacious, acoustically stunning control room and four live rooms. In addition to sounding great, our studios provide relaxed and organic settings that allow bands the space and freedom to focus on their craft and to produce some truly wonderful recordings. See photo gallery for studio photos and pictures of artists working at SpiritHouse.

Danny Bernini (A&R), co-founder of Spirit House Records, has been involved in all aspects of music performance and recording. Bernini is an accomplished producer, recording engineer, mixer and programmer as well a musician and songwriter, equally at home on guitar, bass, drums, or percussion.

Bernini worked as a live sound engineer in the Boston area and was tour manager for several bands from 1986 to 1993. At the same time he was head house sound engineer for the Channel rock and roll venue (1986-1989), and was guitarist and songwriter in Floating Boats, a Boston area college rock band (1985-1993). From 1988 to 1993, Bernini engineered at the highly regarded Long View Farm recording studio, near Boston, and built up a relationship that has continued with collaborations to this day. In 1993 he moved on to become an engineer at The Hit Factory, in New York City, before forming his own Spirit House Productions in 1995.

Bernini has a rich and varied discography that encompasses many genres of music, and includes artists ranging from Acoustic Junction, NRBQ, and Spookie Daly Pride, to Blondie, Bernnie Williams and Notorious B.I.G.
